What is our intake process?

At R3VIVE, we believe in a thorough and personalized approach to fitness. Our 3-Step Intake Process is designed to prioritize consistent, quality movement, creating a solid foundation to kickoff your fitness journey.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Initial Consultation

Your journey begins with a 30-minute consultation where our experienced coaches:

  • Learn about your goals and fitness history.
  • Understand any injuries, surgeries, or movement limitations.
  • Discuss what motivates you and how you learn best.

This step allows us to create a personalized path forward that’s tailored to your needs and aspirations. Additionally, it allows a coach to explain our pricing for memberships, packages, nutrition coaching, personal training, and program design.

Step 2: Body & Movement Assessment

Next, we conduct a joint-by-joint movement assessment to evaluate:

  • Flexibility (passive range of motion)
  • Mobility (active range of motion)
  • Core strength
  • Aerobic capacity
  • Any movement challenges caused by previous injuries

This thorough evaluation helps us understand your current fitness level and identify areas to focus on. With this knowledge, we can coach you more effectively (in classes or one-on-one) and personalize your program to set you up for pain-free, sustainable progress.

Step 3: Foundations Program

The final step is our Foundations Program , where we focus on teaching proper movement mechanics and building confidence. This one-on-one program is tailored to your individual needs, with sessions ranging from 2 to 5 based on your:

  • Training history
  • Injuries or surgeries
  • Movement limitations

During these sessions, our coaches help you master the fundamentals of functional fitness, ensuring you’re comfortable and ready to join group classes or progress into more advanced training. We recommend our foundations program to all our beginners before moving onto our other memberships. The program is not required for all members, if you have previous experience with functional fitness training or similar activities you can jump into whichever membership you choose.

Why Quality Movement Matters

“Movement is essential”. We hear that often, we like to take it a step further and add that consistent, quality movement is essential.

Our Foundations Program emphasizes consistent, quality movement because rushing through mechanics often leads to plateaus and setbacks. By focusing on a “patterns first” mindset, you’ll develop the skills needed for long-term growth while avoiding unnecessary frustrations.

We understand that quality movement is challenging to master on your own and can take years to develop. That’s why our private Foundations sessions accelerate your progress, eliminating guesswork and providing expert guidance every step of the way.

At R3VIVE, we believe your intake process should be as thoughtful and individualized as your fitness journey. Our 3-Step Intake Process is designed to help you feel confident, prepared, and excited to take on your goals.

Ready to get started? Book your consultation today and take the first step toward lifelong fitness and wellness.

What is the March of Dimes? The March of Dimes is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of mothers and babies, with a focus on preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Learn more about the March of Dimes here. Why is it important to us? We are excited to host a workout in support of the March of Dimes and the South Shore Hospital NICU team. My sister-in-law, Amanda Dougherty, and my nephew, Owen Dougherty, received a lot of care during Owen's premature and traumatic birth. Amanda and her family will be walking on the SSH NICU/SCN team in the March for Babies walk on May 9th, and we would love to support her by donating to the cause and helping other families in need. When's the charity class? We would love for everyone to come join us, no matter your fitness level, in support of this great cause. The class will be hosted on Sunday, April 12th, at 11 am. T-shirts will also be available for purchase as a preorder up until March 27th. All proceeds from registration of this event and profits from all shirts purchased will be donated to the SSH NICU/SCN team under Amanda Dougherty. Donate and Jump into Class If you would like to donate more, you can go directly to Amanda’s page and donate here.

Strength expression is our ability to show or utilize the strength we have. We call it expression because in the world of lifting, CrossFit, functional fitness, or training, our ability to show that strength varies. Even though our potential strength is the same, we are not always able to fully express it the way we want. Whether that is hitting a max back squat, doing heavy thrusters in a CrossFit style workout, or hitting that heavy clean complex when olympic lifting, we will not always be able to hit our maxes, this is because of factors outside of just our strength itself.
