Introducing our Gym M.O.M (Member of the Month) for May, 2021 … Edwin “Big Ed” Alvelo!

Aside from being a great, coachable athlete, what makes Eddie such a valuable asset to our community is his light-hearted, youthful spirit and sense of humor. Whether your a coach or athlete, training with Eddie is always fun!

In what has to be the most succinct response in the history of our gym M.O.M honor, Edwin explains who he is and what makes him unique. Just like Eddie’s personality, he keeps it short, sweet and straight to the point!

Q: What made you decide to start functional fitness training?
To get back in shape physically and mentally.

Q: Are you a student/working professional/both? What do you do for a living?
Insurance appraiser.

Q: What are your hobbies/interests outside of the gym?
Cycling and motorcycles.

Q: What are some of your favorite movements (name up to three)?
Row, cleans and box jumps.

Q: What are your least favorite movements?
Wall balls and thrusters.

Q: What movements do you want to improve at?
Snatches.

Q: What advice do you have for someone considering our gym?
If you’re serious and want to see results, join!

Q: What’s your favorite “cheat” food?
Pizza!

Q: What’s your spirit animal and why?
A bear for being ferocious and protective.

Q: What’s your guilty pleasure?
Whiskey.

Big Ed.
