New Barbell class at CrossFit Dudley

Man in red shirt lifts barbell overhead in a gym.

We are very excited to announce that Barbell class will be added to our regular schedule every Thursday at 5 p.m., making its debut this Thursday, November 14th. This class is very near and dear to my heart and I hope everyone comes in to give it a try!

Barbell Class will focus on Olympic weightlifting technique outside of your regular CrossFit classes, allowing each person to become more comfortable with these movements. This class provides an opportunity for both beginner level and advanced athletes to receive coaching and take time to improve skills, technique, and strength in Olympic weightlifting.

We will be performing and progressing your technique and strength in the Snatch (floor to overhead in one movement), the Clean (floor to shoulders in one movement), and the Jerk (shoulders to overhead in one movement), including all of the requisite movements needed to both perform and help improve each one of these lifts.

As a reminder, our first class is this Thursday, November 14th – be sure to sign up! Looking forward to seeing you all in class!

Meet the Member of the Month for April 2026: Jeremy Clark! What started as a little competitive motivation turned into a full-on commitment to getting stronger, moving better, and showing up consistently.

P.S. If you found this helpful, share it with someone you know who's on one of these medications or is thinking about starting. Most people hear "you're losing weight" and assume everything is working perfectly. Now you know there is more to it and more for you to gain! Source: Metabolism — Clinical and Experimental, 2025

What is the March of Dimes? The March of Dimes is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of mothers and babies, with a focus on preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Learn more about the March of Dimes here. Why is it important to us? We are excited to host a workout in support of the March of Dimes and the South Shore Hospital NICU team. My sister-in-law, Amanda Dougherty, and my nephew, Owen Dougherty, received a lot of care during Owen's premature and traumatic birth. Amanda and her family will be walking on the SSH NICU/SCN team in the March for Babies walk on May 9th, and we would love to support her by donating to the cause and helping other families in need. When's the charity class? We would love for everyone to come join us, no matter your fitness level, in support of this great cause. The class will be hosted on Sunday, April 12th, at 11 am. T-shirts will also be available for purchase as a preorder up until March 27th. All proceeds from registration of this event and profits from all shirts purchased will be donated to the SSH NICU/SCN team under Amanda Dougherty. Donate and Jump into Class If you would like to donate more, you can go directly to Amanda’s page and donate here.
