R3VIVE’s Member of the Month, April 2024
Introducing our Gym M.O.M. (Member of the Month) for April 2024 … Gemma Sole!
We’re proud to honor Gemma as gym M.O.M., as her hard work and commitment to wellness has gone unnoticed over the last few months. Gemma is an avid 6’am goer — which in itself shows her commitment level — but during those waking hours, she’s able to lock in and put in the work while the rest of the world is still asleep.
Gemma’s personality is also one to highlight, as she is a vital part of our community standards. She’s welcoming to all and more importantly, she’s coachable and always willing to learn more, making her a perfect fit for our community.
We’re honored to highlight Gemma and honored to have her as a part of R3VIVE.
Learn more about Gemma below:
Q: What made you decide to start functional fitness training?
Post-COVID lockdowns, myself and my husband were bored. We live around the corner and had always driven past R3vive and finally decided to pull the trigger. Where we used to work out separately, R3vive has been a nice way to spend time together each morning (6 am crew) and make new friends.
Q: Are you a student/working professional/both? What do you do for a living?
I run Go-To-Market (a combination of product, marketing, and business development) for a startup called Knode.ai – it’s a generative AI assistant that helps you with your work. Imagine having a helpful colleague in Slack who takes care of repetitive tasks for you, finds information you need, and even helps write emails and reports. That’s what Knode does. It’s trained on your company knowledge and helps upskill you for the future of work.
Q: What are your hobbies/interests outside of the gym?
I like to paint, travel, and eat my husband Chef Luke’s cooking 🙂
Q: What are some of your favorite movements (name up to three)?
I like squats, single-leg RDLs, and skull crushers (because of the name, and I always feel it)
Q: What are some of your least favorite movements?
Can I say burpees three times?
Q: What movement do you want to improve at?
RDLs and Deadlifts…I have a feeling I am dropping too low and irritating my lower back…
Q: What advice do you have for someone considering our gym?
You will do it and wish you’d done it sooner. So just do it now! Also, the benefits are multi-faceted – great fitness and great community.
Q: What is your favorite “cheat” meal?
I don’t consider any food a cheat food but we try and pick special occasions for ice cream 🙂
Q: What is your guilty pleasure?
Sleep. I consider it an activity, but I love sleep. Otherwise, probably sci-fi and fantasy movies which my husband will only occasionally indulge me in.
Q: What is your guilty pleasure?
G, G$ – pronounced “G Money,” and Geezy.
Q: Tell us an interesting fact that we probably don’t know about you!
I founded a venture-backed company in 2012 and ran it for 8 years. It was a nationally recognized software for the on-demand US production of apparel. We helped launch thousands of brands and got to power amazing experiences with Disney, Macy’s, and even NBC Universal making the first shippable Project Runway Season. I exited in 2021 but I got my real-world MBA and the roller coaster ride was exhilarating.
Also – I am a twin!
