R3VIVE’s Member of the Month, May 2024
Introducing our Gym M.O.M. (Member of the Month) for May 2024 … Bader Abu-Eid!
If you’ve ever had an encounter with Bader, and you would easily know why he was a top choice for member of the month. Bader is a genuine person who always shows up with a can-do attitude. All of his coaches love working with him for that reason and more, but also, he is an incredible addition to his class peers!
Your encounters with Bader may seem low-key and chill, but once the clock winds down, it’s 3…2…1… go! One thing that will never be questioned is Bader’s commitment and work ethic. It’s a pleasure to work with him and we’re excited to honor him.

Q: What made you decide to start functional fitness training?
I first learned about R3vive after a friend recommended that I join. My workouts prior to that were solitary and repetitive, and I wasn’t seeing much improvement compared to how much time I was putting in. After my first class at R3vive (Saturday partner workout with Cristian), I immediately realized how much more I could be pushing myself and how helpful that extra encouragement from a coach and peers could be. Incredibly glad that I made the switch!
Q: Are you a student/working professional/both? What do you do for a living?
I’m a lawyer working for Boston Public Schools. I’m based just up Washington Street in Nubian Square if anyone ever wants to say hey.
Q: What are your hobbies/interests outside of the gym?
I’m obsessed with biking. I also took up sailing a few years ago. Can typically find me doing one or the other on a nice day. I also love the occasional Netflix binge, and, of course, hanging with Banjo.
Q: What are some of your favorite movements (name up to three)?
Squats, squats, squats!
Q: What are some of your least favorite movements?
Anything involving sandbags. Wall balls are definitely up there too (no pun intended).
Q: What movement do you want to improve at?
Snatches. Last cycle was incredibly helpful both in terms of perfecting my form and adding volume over time. Can’t wait to keep working on them.
Q: What advice do you have for someone considering our gym?
I would definitely give a Saturday workout a shot to start. It’s a great intro, plus a nice way to meet some folks. And from there, I would recommend completing at least one full fitness cycle. It’s a really great feeling seeing how much you can accomplish over a period of 6 or so weeks.
Q: What is your favorite “cheat” meal?
Not sure if this counts, but I’m pretty sure there’s no limit to how much cheese I can consume in one sitting. It’s problematic! But so damn tasty.
Q: What is your guilty pleasure?
Slightly cutting the corner of the round-about part at the very end of the 400-meter run around the building.
Q: Do you have any nicknames?
Intentional nicknames – not many. Mispronounced-name nicknames – endless!
