Introducing our very first Gym M.O.M (Member of the Month) … Sonia Barros!

Sonia’s commitment, passion, willingness to learn, positive mindset and coach-ability made this an easy vote for our coaching staff. We are so lucky to have her in our community as a part of our early morning 6 a.m. crew! If you happen to see Sonia, be sure to congratulate her … and keep an eye out this month for a workout named in her honor including some of her favorite CrossFit moves!

Q: What made you decide to start Crossfit?
The location I live close by, it’s convenient and I wanted to try something new.

Q: Are you a student/working professional/both?
I am a full time Registered Nurse at Boston Medical Center and a part time student

Q: What are your hobbies/interests outside of the gym & school/work?
I enjoy doing hair, if I wasn’t a nurse I would definitely have my own Salon.

Q: What are your 3 favorite Crossfit movements?
Wall balls, Deadlifts and Back Squats.

Q: What’s your least favorite Crossfit movement?
BURPEES! Strong dislike of them right now!

Q: What Crossfit movement do you want to improve at?
Deadhang pull-ups.

Q: What advice do you have for someone considering trying out/joining a Crossfit gym?
PLEASE JOIN! Learn the techniques, be patient most importantly, consistency is key!

Q: What’s your favorite “cheat” food?
Cheesecake

Q: What’s your spirit animal and why?
A Lioness. I take pride in being the leader in my family and in my professional role as a Nurse

Q: What is your guilty pleasure?
Shopping


Q: Do you have any nicknames?
Don’t have one

Q: An interesting fact that we probably don’t know about you!
I have a nineteen years old daughter!
