A new year often sparks fresh goals, hobbies, and intentions. Health and fitness are among the most popular resolutions, whether it’s improving physical fitness, mastering a new movement, or building connections within your local community. At R3VIVE Fitness, we welcome individuals at every stage of their fitness journey, from beginners to seasoned athletes.

Starting at a new gym can be intimidating, but we believe in a structured and supportive approach—not the “sink or swim” mentality. Our process ensures you feel comfortable, safe, and set up for long-term success.

Here’s what you can expect when you begin your journey with us:

Step 1: Initial Consultation

Your fitness journey begins with a 30-minute consultation. During this session, our expert coaches will:

  • Understand your fitness goals.
  • Assess your starting point.
  • Get to know you on a personal level.

This consultation helps us create a personalized plan, which may include:

  • On-Ramp Program : Ideal for beginners to ease into our training.
  • Movement Assessment : To identify strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Class Recommendations : Tailored guidance to match your goals and experience.

We’ll collaborate to select the best path forward to help you thrive.

Getting started with a consult is easy and can be done by scheduling an in-person or virtual / remote visit.

SCHEDULING A CONSULTATION...

Getting started with a consult is easy and can be done by scheduling an in-person or virtual / remote visit.

Step 2: Movement Assessment

No two fitness journeys are the same, which is why a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work. Our Movement Assessment is designed to evaluate your current fitness level and gather critical information about your unique background, strengths, and areas for improvement.

By understanding where you are right now, we can create a personalized plan that sets you up for long-term success and helps you achieve your goals efficiently and safely.

WHAT IS A MOVEMENT ASSESSMENT?

WHAT IS A MOVEMENT ASSESSMENT?

Our Movement Assessment is a comprehensive, joint-by-joint evaluation that provides valuable insights into your:

  • Flexibility (passive range of motion)
  • Mobility (active range of motion)
  • Core strength
  • Aerobic base
  • Potential movement limitations due to prior injuries

This detailed assessment allows us to tailor your fitness journey, ensuring you can train pain-free and make consistent progress. The information we gather helps our coaches provide better guidance during classes and customize your On-Ramp experience to meet your specific needs and goals.

Step 3: Foundations Program

At R3VIVE, we believe every athlete should start with the basics. Our Foundations Program provides a unique opportunity for one-on-one coaching, where we guide you through essential movement patterns and the core methodologies used in our functional fitness classes.

This personalized approach ensures you build a strong foundation, develop proper technique, and gain confidence as you progress toward your fitness goals.

Coach instructing class

Our Foundations Program is specifically designed to set you up for success before transitioning into our functional fitness, PUMP, or barbell classes. These sessions provide a thorough understanding of fundamental movements, ensuring you feel confident and comfortable performing them in a class setting.

By mastering the basics, you’ll enjoy more efficient and enjoyable workouts, maximizing the value of each day you spend at R3VIVE. Plus, this foundation allows our coaches to focus on refining your progress, creating a fun and productive experience for everyone.

What is the March of Dimes? The March of Dimes is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of mothers and babies, with a focus on preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Learn more about the March of Dimes here. Why is it important to us? We are excited to host a workout in support of the March of Dimes and the South Shore Hospital NICU team. My sister-in-law, Amanda Dougherty, and my nephew, Owen Dougherty, received a lot of care during Owen's premature and traumatic birth. Amanda and her family will be walking on the SSH NICU/SCN team in the March for Babies walk on May 9th, and we would love to support her by donating to the cause and helping other families in need. When's the charity class? We would love for everyone to come join us, no matter your fitness level, in support of this great cause. The class will be hosted on Sunday, April 12th, at 11 am. T-shirts will also be available for purchase as a preorder up until March 27th. All proceeds from registration of this event and profits from all shirts purchased will be donated to the SSH NICU/SCN team under Amanda Dougherty. Donate and Jump into Class If you would like to donate more, you can go directly to Amanda’s page and donate here.

Strength expression is our ability to show or utilize the strength we have. We call it expression because in the world of lifting, CrossFit, functional fitness, or training, our ability to show that strength varies. Even though our potential strength is the same, we are not always able to fully express it the way we want. Whether that is hitting a max back squat, doing heavy thrusters in a CrossFit style workout, or hitting that heavy clean complex when olympic lifting, we will not always be able to hit our maxes, this is because of factors outside of just our strength itself.
